110 Sheaths

I would like to try using my 110 as my edc again and was wondering if the nylon sheath on the buck site lays horizontal along your belt rather than vertical, like a leather one. Looks like the nylon would be less bulky, especially if it laid flat against your belt? If not, anyone have any good suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Many of the nylon and cordura sheaths are both vertical and horizontal carry.

I use a cordura horizontal during hunting season.

I do often touch it to make sure it is snapped, as I had one that would pop open if I brushed against something at times. But the knife never came out.

Have been known to toss one in the washing machine when it gets really soiled.
No adverse effects.

The cordura sheaths on the Alpha folders are V/H as well.

Thanks!
Just picked myself up a new 110. I think that with the flatter profile of the cordura and being able to carry it horizontally, I'm going to give the 110 another try as an edc..........................even if it doesn't work out as an edc, I was looking for an excuse anyway to buy a 2012 model 110 since it is the 50th aniversary of the 110. The only other 110 I have is a 2004 and I picked it up without a sheath. The quality of the scales on the 2012 seems to be even better than the 2004.
And as easy as it usually seems to find a new 110, I had to go to 4 Wal-Marts before I found one, and the one I bought was the last one in stock.

This was one of my issues with the 110's. So the nylon sheath that comes with them now can go horizontal too?
If so that changes the game for me with this.

Yes, it is both vertical or horizontal. I prefer the look and quality of leather, but the 110 horizontal on the belt in the cordura sheath is flatter and less of a profile than my 112 vertical in leather. Now my love handles won't look so out of balance. :)

Now, there is a difference in nylon and cordura, if yall haven't figured that out. Cordura is thicker and heavier duty over the flimsier nylon.

And not all of them are both V/H, or didn't used to be.

One problem I have with the horizontal carry is that I prefer a thick, wide and heavy belt (suitable for carrying a small holstered handgun, spare mag with ammo or other heavier than normal stuff.......and the horizontal carry belt loops are too small.

Otherwise, it's a great idea.

And yes, there are a few cheap nylon sheaths out there and you don't want them......the heavier Cordura is the way to go.

Just an interesting note. The horizontal loops on the Alpha folders cordura are a bit larger than on the 110 cordura. fyi sorta thing.

The same for the alpha horizontal leather sheath.
