Once upon a time I acquired 3 less than desireable 110s when I bought a four knife package from a popular auction site. I finally decided to send these three back home to Buck for general make-overs. I am very pleased with the results!

Those came around nice, esp like the f/g. Did you request the stripping of the 100th aniv scale emblem or did they do that on thier own. If possible could I have a close up of that? I have one with a broken tip but only about 1/8" and alot of the black is dinged off the emblem. I've almost sent it in once. Blade really isnt worth the reblading.

Thanks for the pics and in advance for response

It didn't have any black on the emblem prior to sending it in. Did they all have black? Poor pic but here it is.

Yeah, the inside was black and only the letters were brass. Here is one new.

so yours was stripped fully when you got it? Doesnt look bad, I have been considering whether they would repaint it or not-guess not.

They did a fine job on all those knives. Hard to believe they are the same knives with only new blades. Who ever fixed them does quality work.

What steps did you follow to send the knives to Buck?

Did you contact Buck before you sent them to get a price quote so you could send a check with the knives? Did you describe in writing, sent with the knives, what treatment you wanted?

Great result. Thank you for the terrific before and after pics.

When asking for a price quote (email to Joe Houser) I was sure to mention that I was NOT asking for any kind of warranty work. The re-blade and general clean up was $10 per knife. I sent them to Buck (Attention Joe Houser), and very soon after sent Joe Houser an email so that he could check on their arrival. In the box with the knives I included a brief write up of the work that I wanted done and I included my address and telephone numbers. They contacted me via telephone after they were received and that is when I paid.

BKI (makes it less tempting for a thief)

I have sent a 110 and a 112 in to the Buck company and was awe-struck with my returned items too. Just like new again.

I have sent several knives into Buck for work. When they return it is hard to recognize them, they are so perfect.

I have concluded that such work is not the product of skilled craftsmen, however. It is witchcraft pure and simple.

Telechronos:):):)

They all look great Tony. Joe and his group did a great job on them.
Thanks for sharing.
