Very knice Easy, I have scoped a few of those double dashes on the bay but never pulled the trigger......yet:D I absolutely love the ebony. I have been carrying a 100th aniversary 110 for years but I've been thinkin of getting a duplicate of an oldie with nice Mac Eb to edc. I have an 87 with a shortened blade that may get rebladed to do the trick.

Do you also have the Single-Dash?

I've read here that the "Single" is actually harder to find than the Double.

Have you found that to be true?

I have, found a few double dash's on the Bay, but still looking for a single. The first double dash that I had found was in a pawn shop, that wanted to much for it, and it was wore out, almost half of the blade was gone, and I could have bought a new 110 for what they wanted. HL

Perhaps the reason the Single-Dash is harder to find is because the change occurred early in the year rather than in the latter part of the year?

Does anybody have a date of the change more precise than sometime in 1992?

...Come to think of it...I believe I have a LNw/No Box double dash layin' around here somewhere.:eek:EW EW...I think I also have a single dash in the same condition...but it's a Finger Groove model:(...Gotta look around...:o:p

I've researched this before but couldn't find the thread so I had to do it again . I found it in 'Tidbits' on pg. 12 in the June 2006 issue . Not sure the author of those but it has Joe's style . However, Bill Keys Buck's Senior Engineer wrote a memo dated Dec. 5, 1991 on a ECR (engineering change request) "that the new rocker and spring holder redesign has been approved . The 1992 knives will bear the double minus stamp after additional testing on newly designed production parts..." The change was on the spring holder and did affect the blade or rocker . So, just looking at this I'd have to say the single minus is more rare which some here have . DM

Thanks . Your welcome . When we get into these small details it gets harder to retrive the files from the cobwebs so, I end up looking it up . Even then it is at times hard to find . We got into some of these stampings before and on some of them 'no one' could find info. that made sense . DM

David the time you take to research these details are appreciated. The 110 I got in the early 70s was such a great knife. The 2010 model I carry now is fantastic!I know the blade steel, bolsters and such has been refined over the years. It's interesting to learn about the internal improvements as well. The 110 sure is a great knife.:D

Thanks everyone... I only see the single dash one around here... The double dash one I see on the Bay some times... Thanks again, I4Bucks... ... ITE

LOL,life is short and there's just way too many cool 110s Fritz.I have come up with a formula for how many 110's a guy can edc.The average pair of jeans has 3.5" of belt loops and a 110 sheath is 2" wide.Take your waist size minus 3'5" and divide by 2.That's how many 110s a guy can edc.:D
