110 tang vs lock configuration

I used to own a Cold Steel Voyager Large Tanto, which is basically a lockback. One of the feature that makes it a safer lockback is a notch/hollow part ground at the tang, so that when lock is release, the blade would swing down 90° and 'stop' there, i.e. the lock would exert pressure at the notch. User can then change grip and continue to close the blade safely.

Does Buck 110 have similar feature?

Nope, no such thing here.

Actually I'm not 100% sure of what you're talking about. First I thought you meant a slipjoint style half-stop, but this doesn't have that either, and certainly your description doesn't fit.

Either way, the 110 has no such feature. Just gotta be careful closing it. :)

I assume that you're talking about a detent. I HATE detents. The 110 and 501's don't have them. I find that it's completely superfluous and just makes for less closing smoothness. Mine both have a little bit of stop from what I assume is spring pressure or something right before they snap shut at the end of the action.

NeedleRemorse, the detent you are referring to is used on linerlock folders. It's a indentation on the tang with a small ball attached to the liner. When you close the blade the ball rests in the indentation to hold the blade closed in the handle of the knife. 110's are basically a slip joint with a notch in the back of the tang where the locking bar locks it in place. There is a spring under the locking bar and inserted in the rear bolster that gives it tension.

Ah, I must have the wrong terminology. I have a Gerber AR 3.50 with a notch in the tang to stop it half-way through the action.

the notch seems to be it .. but isn't the AR 3.50 a liner lock? how does the notch get into play then?

Anyone with CS Voyager can verify my question? I don't have it with me anymore.

Don't own one, but.....
www.gerberblades.com states that the AR 3.50, under general use, is in fact a liner lock. Could you have a different knife? It doesn't make sense to me to have a 1/2 stop on a liner lock, as it would inhibit good lockup, in my opinion.
