I bought a 112 recently it was my first buck since I was younger I really like the size, and the handle feels great in my hand it has been a constant woods companion for me..it seems however that the 110 is much more prolific, and there are a lot more variations...other than size is there any real difference?? regardless I really love this knife and plan to get a few more 112's and was thinking about the 110 just to see what the buzz was about.

In a 110 you can find BG-42, Sv30,and other "premium" steels a lot easier than in a 112...I like 112s, a slightly better fit for my hand, and it does the same job....For collectors there are 30 110s for every 112 more so as "special projects" than catologe models alltho there has been more 110s than 112s over the years that way too...

The 112 is based on the 110. On some military bases they limited the length of the knife blade to 3". Hence the 112.

I don't have as many 112's, but I really like the design. Buck came out with a stag 112 this year and I was lucky enough to get one.

I've got exactly one 112 and have had it for 23 years, i believe it holds the record for longevity in my house. I really like these.

Rangers lead the way!
In the old days of wood 'n brass, the Ranger 112 was god sent.
It's lighter than the Hunter 110; plus add that with the finger grooves

life suddenly became complete.

I like the 112 better than the 110. I do not need the full sized 110 for my EDC unless I know I will be doing some heavy cutting. I do carry 110's and 560's when I feel the urge, but I mainly carry one of my 112's . When I pull out a 112 many people think it's cute because it is small (smaller). I read many posts about the famus 110, but not many on the 112's. I think that is another reason why I like the 112's.

BTW I have more 112's than I do 110's

I havent owned a 110 for many years......But I have 17 112s!

Wow, 17! That's awesome. I too prefer the 112 over the 110. I always found the 110 just a bit too big but never got around to getting a 112-and I also like that it is lesser known to some degree. Last year, I convinced my boss that I should be allowed to wear brown leather at work when I wear brown toned clothes (small town police detective). When I wear black I have an original Bucklite with a cordura sheath since I figured the 110 was too heavy for wearing with a pretty boy belt in plainclothes-plus I could buy another knife on my uniform allowance! So, when I went ahead and got the brown leather I got a 112 and ordered the dark brown sheath that fits it. It's exactly what I wanted, just a bit smaller than the 110 but every bit as tough. Someday (when I hit the lottery) I'll have some nice stag handled 112's but the standard model is doing it's job for now.

Buckaroo...There are a LOT of really nice 112s you car find for under 100.00 A Ducks Unlimted went for around 60.00 ...Stag oh around 90.00 Look at e;bay to see what out there.Stay away from etched/gold blades for a user, finger grove {mostly] come with a brown or tan sheth from Buck.Join BCCI and you get a chance to buy some REALLY COOL 112s.REMEMBER YOU NEED A D.U.C. {dress up carry} 112 TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just picked up a 112FG (finger groove), I really like this knife, it fits my hand very well.
