I arrived home yesterday and found two Bucks in my mailbox, which always makes for a good day! :D One was an Alpha Dorado from the big evil E (subject of another thread) and the other was my 'old' .110. fresh back from warranty work at Buck to fix a bend rocker.

I mailed my 110 out to Post Falls on Jan 9 and got it back yesterday which was 20 days total. After my knife arrived at Buck, I received an email from Joe stating that it had arrived and that he should have it back in the mail in about a week. If you figure in shipping time from the East Coast to Idaho and back again, Buck had my knife for only about a week and a half.

The knife I got back was hardly recognizable as my old Buck! They fixed the bent rocker (I believe they actually replaced it with a new one) then buffed/polished the whole knife, including smoothing a rough area along the spine of the blade. I believe they even sharpened it, but I'm not absolutely sure because I sharpened it before I shipped it off. I must say that I am very impressed with the prompt service and the quality of the repair! Thanks Joe and everyone at Buck! :)

My .110. before repair. Bent rocker, dull bolsters, dull scales.

My .110. like new. Bright bolsters and wood, new rocker, etc.

View of the new rocker, nice work!

Nice, I gotta say that I got similiar treatment when I sent in a 15 year old 110 with a broken blade for a new ATS-34 blade.

I got back a cleaned and polished knife that looked like a brand new 110.

Buck is a great company!

I'm glad you like the way your 110 turned out. :D
Whenever we get a bent rocker, we do replace it because it is such an important part of the blade locking mechanism.
Thanks a bunch for the kind compliments! :D

Glad you shared this experience. Good on the Buck Warranty Dept. Nice job.

Thanks for the post. I've had similar experience's when dealing with the people at the Buck company. Like they say there are only three things that you can count on in life. Death, taxes and BUCK!

BTW, after being exposed to so much negativism about anything and everything in the mainstream media today it's always a nice change to read something positive about anything. :D

Thanks for the post!!! That 110 looks brand new again! Take good care of her now ;)
Good job Buck!

I will. No more frozen deer carcases, at least not until next year :D

Actually, I learned my lesson and pledge not to abuse my Bucks anymore ;)

How was the rocker bent ? mine sits a little proud at the back when the blades open or shut . It locks up really solid though .

The very tip end of the rocker closest to the blade was bent up about 1/16". There is a notch in the rocker at that point that engages a notch in the blade when open. With a bend in that location it does not fully engage the notch in the blade and would probably fail (unlock) under hard use.

I wish I had taken a pic of the rocker before it was repaired, but I didn't. :o
