Hi all. First p;ost so hope not to sound too much like a knife virgin.
Buying a Buck 110 with inverted imprint and green micarta handle. Any idea when this was made and what steel the blade was made from.
Thanks for your time.

B bob hobard Welcome to the Buck Forum.
Green Micarta would not be a standard 110 knife.
If this knife truly has a 2 line tang stamp BUCK/USA read with the tip down that would be pre 1973.
Is this an old knife?
There are a number of 110's with green micarta but are much newer and would not be 2-line inverted.
We would like to help but going to need a bit more information.

To answer your question about steel, a pre 1973 2-line inverted knife would be 440C.
In all politeness are you sure you know what 2-line inverted means?
If your knife is a modern knife (post 1992) the standard steel would be 420HC.
All modern knives using steel other than 420HC will be indicated on the pyle side, possibly with a BOS flame symbol.

You said you were buying the knife.
I'm going out on a limb, are you buying it on the bay?
If so, just give the 12 digit item number and we can see what you bought.
Are you still here?

Thanks for all of your replies.
The knife, which sold for $215. was eBay item number: 295474005367
When searching yoiu would have to look under "sold" items (obviously)
Again, thanks for your response.

It is a early 112 not a 110.

That picture is from ebay, so I don't know how long it will last.

O.B.

When I enter that item number I get 'no match'

Could it an early black micarta 112 that just looks green?

Edit to Add...found it under sold...now, working on reading comprehension skills
