I want to buy a 111 mm Vic SAK. Can you help me to choose? Are all the 111 models 2-layer?

King of the 111 mm is THE LOCKSMITH (in my opinion). It´s quite big (four layers) but it´s got all you really need. Get used to it!

My personal favorite is the One Hand Fireman. I like having the corkscrew rather than the T-bone Phillips and I like having the seat belt cutter blade - it's unbelievably sharp.

I had the One Hand Trekker for a while (until I lost it.) My impression is that it was just a tad too big and heavy for pocket carry. Now I'm back to using the Rucksack (when I don't have the Farmer on me.) The Rucksack is fine in the pocket. The bigger models may not be. For me, if I have to carry it on a belt, I'd rather have a multitool.

My favorites are the Bundeswehr OHT and the Hercules. Herc is big, but does erverything. If you want something sleek and smaller in the pocket, check out the Nomad and Centurion.

My EDC for many years now has been the Rucksack
Other popular choices include:
One Hand Trekker (OHT)
Adventurer
Outrider
As you can see, there is an entire line of the larger Vics. You are sure to find one that works for you.

I have a rucksack and a trekker, both are great but I like the heft of the trekker, slightly beefier tools and I like the liner lock, though the sliding lock seems very secure as well.

Thanks for all the info!!!

I decided to buy a Rucksack and I like it a lot :) :) Just curious however about your experience regarding the lock, how good is it?

Being left-handed, I actually prefer the slide lock over the liner lock. Very easy to operate and secure. In sixteen years I've never had it fail, and have never worried about it failing. Of course, ANY folder with a lock can fail if you really want it to. Treat it like you should and you will have no problem.

P.S. Good Choice

If You want a really big one, take the Work Champ (6 layers) or the Work Champ XL.
(don't know how many layers, but it's REALLY BIG).

But the Vic liner lock is set up for lefties.
I agree with you as to the direction that the liner lock moves makes it more natural for lefties, but I've known some righties who claim otherwise. Regardless, I think the Vic slide lock is definitely more natural for lefties. Plus the fact that I dislike liner locks in general. (The truth comes out:) ). Either system is probably equally secure.
