I don't know about the rest of you, but I'd certainly never attach a 111mm knife to my actual vehicle keyring, and I don't use lanyards either. So, finding the keyring attachment superfluous and somewhat irritating to my hand, I ground/filed it off. It has a much nicer profile now and just feels better in the hand.
I used a bench grinder for the first stage of metal removal and finished up with the edge of a mill file. The steel used for the keyring attachment is much softer than the blade/tool steel, and could be filed down easily with only a hand file if you don't have access to a bench grinder.
Just passing this along as an FYI in case others may find the little keyring protrusion unnecessary. Much more comfortable to handle the knife without it! YMMV as always.
