I have seen 110 and 112 automatics and would like to have one of the 112's but I have heard that there is a big difference in quality of them. I was hoping to get some advise on where to get a good one.
Thanks a lot,
Gene

Buck made 110 automatics?

You might consider waiting for a BUCK automatic. There has been some chat (search forum for it). My guess is that 110 automatic will be produced first, before 112, IF Buck goes forward with production. 2014 is staged to be a really BIG year for the 110 model's Birthday celebration. However, I would buy both, 110 & 112 produced by Buck, in a heart beat.

Steve, I'll wager you a Pepsi that BUCK will never make a full automatic knife. Too many local knife laws against them. How would you regulate which dealers are allowed to order them and which aren't. An automatic would also be a difficult knife to "lifetime warranty". I expect there is some liability to it also, you sure don't see the people converting them proudly putting their name on them like other custom knifemakers do their knives. /Roger

At the gun show this past weeked there was an automatic built on a counterfit 110.

Never? Uh oh. Now you are scaring me and here is why. I've searched for years, in person, for an automatic Buck (BTW, the assisted openers are very near automatic performance) without joy because I could not find one that I wouldn't feel embarrassed to own. A good one maybe out there but I must see it and feel it in my hand. All have issues in my experience.

I still have hope for a BUCK auto. And I agree with you that this is unlikely, but not quite in the "never" set of unlikely events. I need some hope. Yes I do.

Now if Vallotton did the upgrade I would be more interested in an aftermarket 110/112. Yes, you betcha that I'd be interested.
