112 Blade replacement/ how far back does Buck's current blade fit

Looking over my 112's I can see the differencs in the kick of the different era 112's. Pulling a few apart I have seen that older, ie pre 3 dot's have no pivot bushing and a 1/8" hole.
Would a current production blade fit say, a 2nd version 112 if the bushing was in and the kick reduced?

If anyone from Buck reads this, what is the cutoff timeline at present for scrapping a knife and replacing?

Thanx for any help guys

Duane

Sit, The blade bushing came in with the 2 dots and the hole is 5/32". With just slight adjustments and bushings any new blade will fit your frame. DM

I don't even know what version this 112 was (cat. II Ver. 3 perhaps?) but it was pre-dots or year stamps. It had a broken and reshaped blade which Buck replaced for me with a new one awhile ago.

Dave, Thanks for the info on the bushing.

Plumber, Thanx for the pics and info.

You two just made my day! :)

You're welcome. I figured a couple of pictures of an older one with a new blade would show it can be done.

Nice pictures, Dave. The Buck folks sure fixed up that knife good. I have one I need to get to them for a reblade.

Thanks Ed. Yes, they did a great job on it. I found the knife in one of my Father in Law's tool boxes after he passed away in 2004. I think it was last year that I finally got around to sending it in for the blade and spa.

humm i wander on the really old 110's were the blade was thiner
if it is possable to replace the blade with new one as the lock bar is the same thickness?
or would lock bar have to be replaced also?
humm ... this leads me to ponder another question..
but that for a new thread...

At the BCCI meeting in Post Falls in 2008 I bought a 112
from Joe H. It was a new V1V1 with a 2008 blade. Leroy made
a blade swap with another V1V1 that had a new V1V1 blade but
a crappy handle ...
