112 Damascus

I'm not suggesting that anyone ruin a perfectly good Damascus 110, mind you...but if you have a Damascus 110 with a broken tip, it can be ground to the 112 profile with minimum effort...(the tang/lock area is the same)... :D;)

as buck 110 said once upon a time they were made..
now they are as hard to find as ... well ...
bucks way has one if you look up his picts..
gald to see you are back from summmmbatical there 110..

scott is a 112 collector as is tin sue.. i dont know who else does 112...?
me - i am a one-ten man !!!

...Twenty seven years of collecting down the tubes. The upside is I no longer need a lock on my door as I have nothing of value any longer...LOL...

Buck_110, I am really sorry to hear that you required surgery and had to liquidate your 110 collection to help pay for it. :(

I applaud you on your positive state of mind and a continued desire to collect Buck knives. May your collection become everything you want of it.

Since I know I will never find a collection of N.I.B. 110s and 110 variants that I had, I'm going to change direction...I'm going to chase 531s and 532s instead. In this manner, I can't compare what I had to what I'll have. This way it won't hurt as much if you know what I mean.

Buck_110, I'm a great fan of 532's as well, and have just about every production model issued, so I would certainly be the last to discourage you to chase after those. However, if your heart truly lies with those 110's, follow that dream and begin again. I would bet that many of the buyers of your great collection also felt that they would never be able to locate all those great NIB 110's and special variants that you were forced to sell. Somewhere, sometime, those will indeed show up again. The thrill of the chase in collecting, much like that in pursuing the opposite sex, often exceeds that of the actual possession. ;)

Earl, can you expand a little on thoes 112s???? Catolog number? year? Custom shop??? Cost ?? ECT.......Us 112 lovers need to know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Joe, can you give us a short lesson on damascus 112s????? Special Project/LEs/Custom shop.....We all know there rare, rare, rare but what can/should we look for.....I can just picture a NS MOP Drop point with some nice file work...ILL sell the lawn tractor!!!!!!!!!!!

Buck110, bummer on selling off the collection. I must have been away as I was unaware you were force closed to meet medical expenses. That was/is a mean break.
I hope your recovery is complete and things are looking up for you.
I'm with TinSue, get out there a buy yourself a new 110 from the Custom Shop, it will be real special to you!

TripleE, just when I think I have seen just about every knife you have, out pops new photos of what must be an endless collection of fabulous Buck knives! Could you possibly have a photo collection online somewhere that shows your entire collection?
Would love to see everything you have!

Buck 110....When did Buck have that option?? Cost???Any that show up on e;bay are BIG BUCKS,so any info helps....

I'm assuming you are referring to Buck 110's comments regarding the 112's with damascus blade and elephant ivory handles. I have one of those and it is indeed absolutely georgeous. I think those came out of the old Custom Shop, back when they would basically do any custom job on any model that you requested. That was a long time ago, but as I recall, the price was somewhere around $225-$250 back then.

One project, the 1997 Buck Collectors Club annual knife.....the man asked for a short answer didnt he? :D
Unless I am wrong, and it wouldnt be the first time, the BCCI knife is the only 112 damascus project Buck did.

Hey Buck 110, sorry to hear of your absense. I trust you are recovering well and I am glad to see you posting again. Please let me know if you need any info on the 531/532. I'd be happy to help.
Take care,

Welcome back! It's good to hear that you're getting your health back! I think the 531/532 direction is a good one. Those are great little knives with lots of variations.
Mike
