I just received a 112 Ecolite and love the knife. I especially like the handle material and reduced weight compared to that of the brass bolster/wood handle model.
My only issue is the up and down blade play. Side to side is solid.
My question to other ecolite series owners is this the norm? Is ther anything I can do like tap the pins down a bit?
It bugs me but I don't want to gripe too hard as it was less that $30. But if it didn't have this issue it would be perfect.

Thanks!

If you can't live with it, contact Buck. I'm sure they will make it right.
Sorry, man.

Don't tap the pins down!
From the 5 or so I have handled, a tiny bit of up and down play seems normal for these...the lock will hold just fine.

It's sounds like it the nature of the beast but wait for a Buck Pro to answer you.
My 422 has a tad up & down play. No biggie.

I bought two ecolite 112's to give as gifts. Each has a tiny bit of up and down play. Unnoticeable in use. You have to grab the blade and wiggle it to detect it. Not a problem to me.

It is difficult to make a lockback knife which does not have a tiny bit of blade play. I have seen it in many production lockbacks I own made by several different high end companies. Never has it interfered with my usage of the knife. Never has it caused me to worry about the security of the lock.

I'm lucky, mine are all tight, but I see it from time to time and I dont have any that are substantial enough to give a second thought.

Lycosa is right, if it bugs you, Buck will fix or replace at no charge.
