Hi guys,

I inherited an old Buck 112 and about six or more weeks ago sent it up for sharpening and cleaning.

Understanding the message on their phone says the wait is between 6 to 8 weeks I called for an update a couple of weeks ago with no response. Today I called twice and was again only able to leave message(s).

So now it's another week gone by, no returned calls about where my knife is at...what the heck gives??

Any ideas on what's going on? I'm trying to be patient but get mad by the lack of response.

jkarp,

Go down to the bottom, click on moderator Joe Houser, Buck Co. superhero, send him a email. Tell him the situation....He is a busy as a one armed paperhanger but he will get back with you.

Thanks 300, I just left an email in Joe's in-box. Appreciate it.

Quick note: sorry for any grumpiness on my part with the original posting. First got a call from Buck repair this morning saying my knife would be shipped in a week or so - and then got home late this evening to find it waiting in my mailbox.

Today was a great day since it was my 56th Birthday to find the 112 razor sharp and beautifully polished.

As said I'm a little impatient but it all worked out.

Have a great 4th all!

Joe

Cool, glad to hear you got your 112 back... Some times it take time to get a knife back from buck... But when you do, it's always worth the wait... Now how about some pics of your 112...

I think it was worth the wait. Here's a few pics of the 112:

Nice Job.
I remember a 112 with a center drilled lanyard hole. There was a lot of discussion about the springholder. Was that your knife?

I'm sure it was. Talked to the Buck folks during the process who said with this model there was enough of the springholder around the tapped hole to provide safety.

Now to put this older knife to use...have a great 4th all!

Despite the whole "Hostage" title,

I'd like to offer my thanks to Joe Houser and Tracy Nassar for checking up on my knife delivery, which again was Friday July 3 - and the knife in the photos will be enjoyed for years to come.

Despite my obligation to the Benchmades and others I own my first love was an 110 given to me in the Scouts a million years ago and I've not forgotten that knife.

Now I find myself looking for more older Bucks, including an early 110, which is on the "list".

Cheers,
Joe Karp

Your knife is beautiful. Thank you for the up-date, its great to see that customer service is still important to Buck. Its a refreshing change from the norm that you tend to see with some of the other manufacturers out there.
