Regarding the various 112 handles over the years.. the 450 and 412.. are they the same 112 blade? Still able to have blade replacements by Buck today? Are there any other versions that fit the 112 blade?

The 450 is a drop point version and you can add the 432 advertising 112..Buck will only replace with a current version 112 blade. Lots of different handles over the years LT's Slims Take-Apart Sport and the list goes on. Blade steels number close to a dozen including Damascus. SOON we all hope you can get one in Magnacut lolol! Or even a drop point in the Custom shop..

Regarding the discontinued 112 handles… we’re some more desired or valuable then the rest? Such as the 450 vs 412? Or particular colors? Also were both of those made in the USA?

Lots of different LE's in many different handles since 1973 with most variations valued by handle material and sometimes color, blade steels and shape and by production numbers. With so many variables there is no clear cut 'best' handle. Even the box shieth and paperwork especially a COA change the 'Value'..I believe ALL 112's have been made in the USA.

Thank you for the info!!

austin37 if you are not a BCCI member consider a electronic membership just to access the VAST archives of basically anything Buck. I poked around for hundreds of hours just to ID odd 112's so I would know what to look for. Very helpful for 112's that show up maybe only once in a decade or so.
In my case I decided to collect/display ONLY odd ones starting back in 2009. I consider the 'best' handle on a 112 to be a bareheaded in horn with some texture for the best grip and much prefer a spear/drop point for actual use.

I am a member. Will have to research the archives and the barehanded horn 112 to see what it looks like.
