Thumbstud went missing from my 112 pro. Does any one know if an aftermarket stud for a bugout would fit the 112s hole without modification? just trying to avoid sending it in for waranty

This is exactly why I removed it. At first I removed the clip, but after it bit me on the tip of my middle finger while fishing it out of my rfp, I decided the stud had to go too.It doesn't bother me when I'm cutting anything, but sometimes the thumbstuds get snagged on my pocket.
I took the clip off also. It is indeed an excellent knife to drop in your pocket and forget about. This is exactly why I removed it. At first I removed the clip, but after it bit me on the tip of my middle finger while fishing it out of my rfp, I decided the stud had to go too.
I realize the reason the knife was produced in the first place was to provide an easy to carry 112 with some modern features, but without those features it’s an excellent knife to drop in your pocket and forget about until you need it.

I put mine in a padded vise and grabbed each stud with a pair of vise grips. After the “crunch” from the vise grips, they came apart so easily I could have removed them with my fingers. How did you get the thumbstuds off? Do they just unscrew?
I have 2 and I like the stud. The one in question came from the factory spinning loosely. It was like a fidget spinner. Had it on my waistband one day, pulled it out to use and the stud was gone...Did you ever have problems with the thumb stud getting caught on stuff you were cutting?
