Hello all, I just wanted to share my new old 112 Micarta handle/inlays with everyone... It's a sweet old Buck... Thanks I4Bucks... ;) ... Your okay... :thumbup:

I wonder why they didnt put a nail nic in those until 1980? Just doesnt make sense when the 110's of that era did have them.:confused:
 
Since the nail notches on the 110 and 112 are only for show anyway.....none of them make sense.

They added the nail notch on the 112 because a marketing genius said it would sell better with a nail notch.

However, it didn't seem to make a difference in sales.

Buck wasted a lot of money cutting notches in 110/112 blades for the last 50 years.

Thanks Peter, I wish they would do the 110s and 112s in Micarta again, like every other year would be nice... ITE ... :thumbup:

They did make some for the "Smokey Mountain Rendezvous" in a greenish micarta. Not sure what I was thinking, as I didn't want the whole set, and ordered some 532's and a 500 but neglected to pick up a 112?

They were on display at Blade and they ALL looked NICE!

A nice , clean, RARE,112.......NIB is $200.00 and way up if all perfect...Sheath is slightly different in later versions..lTE,great find and a good restoration!
 
Very nice, I'll have to round up all my micarta 112's and see how many I have, I even have one with BG-42

Thanks ITE, huh..thought I did post that on the SPS when I got it back from the spa a couple months age, but you would surely know:D
