on the 112
has any one noticed that there are 2 types/styles/size?
the other day i had out a pair and noticed they were diffrent frames!!!!!!!
~ wow~
one is smaler and slightly diffrent profile then the other on the front bolster
doing some hard looking i noticed that it seems to be both brass and nickel..
now that i have seen this oddity it begs the questions of
what are the dates for the two diffrent frames & was there a reason for it ?
sharp observation or comments from the gang welcome ...
or am i jest the last one to figure this out???:foot: ?
edited to assure all that foot is still in mounth

Pics, please. I don't understand...

I know there is a slabside and a roundside, like the 110's, but I don't know what you are referring to here...

...Dave I pulled out an older 112 stamped Buck USA , then 112 no dot, a 112 2 dot, a 112 3 dot a 112 4 dot ( these are called "slab-sided" ) and some of the newer, softer bolstered 112 with the radii ground to make 'em more appealing by Buck. They do indeed appear to be slimmer at the front bolster if you compare the older 112's to the newer 112's. This was very noticeable. Upon measuring the bolsters along the straight edge against the scales, I found to my suprise that they were all basically the same width. The all mic'd out to approximately .735. The appearance of being slimmer may be due to the visual effect you get from grinding the radii on the newer 112's. Interesting observation there Dave...

How many freakin' 112's you got??? :grumpy: No wonder nobody can find any on eBay...

 ...LOL...Not as many as most of the folks here in the forum Trax...I guess I must have 15 or 20 of 'em tho...Most of 'em are beaters that I picked up to reblade or rescale...I'm having a heck of a time picking up 442's lately tho... seems like whatever I need becomes scarce whenever I need it...LOL...:o

Just goofin'. Go figure, huh?
Here in Calif anything with "gang'" gets attention. I'll bet pretty soon they will change the name of that old show "Our Gang" to "Our Village" or something tree-huggy and PC.
RICO is a Four Letter Word...

...Ah...Darla!!! <sigh> Remember how Alfalfa always used to get her at the end??? :p

Dave,
Did you ever get the 110/112 data sheet from me? It lists all the known variations to both models. It even covers when the radius was first added. Did you know it was first put on by hand? You can tell them apart because the area in the thumb depression, or lock release area, will not be radiused because it was too hard to do by hand.
Later the radius was incorporated into the tooling so it will go all the way around the perimeter.
Motorsickle gang? I thought we were all into classic cars? or is it just me...again.
