Are any variations planned for the 112? I'd like to see a titanium handled version.

Hey Joe! How about it? I agree with Paul that a 112 in different handle & blades
would be a worthwhile offering.

I have two 112's with nickle silver bolsters and they are the most comfortable
in the hand knives I own. The size of the knife is also just right. While they
don't get much carry since I moved to office work they still are in my "Keeper"
box for when I do need one.

Just dreaming I'd like to see a 112 in NK bolster , ebony wood , no rivits, Bg-42
blade. Now as Mick Dundee would say "That's a knife"!!

I remember having this dream once before. A 112 in titanium bolsters just seems like a good fit. There is nothing planned but the idea has been considered. I am also hoping to someday see the 112 on Pete's Custom Knife Shoppe. Nickle silver boslters, Ebony inlays and BG-42 steel would then be a snap.

Joe, I'm sorry but I'm gonna be a pain in the butt about this now.

Yes, I remember all the theads about the 112 that have been posted here
on the forums with some about a titanum handled model. I also remember
all times fourmites who have pleaded for a Pete's version to be offered.

With no response from Buck to make them available from Pete's.

With the 112 being such a fine useful knife for everyday ,more so than
the 110, and the intrest that is constantly displayed about it why not at
least offer a trial run though Pete's to see if the market really is there???
I think's you and C.J. might get a suprize for not much investment.

An offering from Pete's would lift the 112 from the plain vanilla boring
stauts it has now to a a "gee whiz this is a neat little knife". It worked
for the 110 and I'd bet it will for the 112. So talk it over with C.J. and
Pete and see what they think.

Joe, The 112 in Pete's Custom !! I would buy 2 or 3 immediately.

You have the same assembly procedure, very similar parts, it would be a painless addition.

FK

I gave my 112 to my son when he passed his Tone'n Chip and got his Tenderfoot rank, and have been wanting to replace it. When I think of the neat 110's I've got, though, I can't see me using it much.

If I had the same options for the 112 at Pete's that I do for the 110, I'm sure I'd pick up 2 or 3 (or 4, or 5, or 6...)

I guess the biggest problem (outside of getting the website to work) would be producing blades in the various steel options, and I confess I have no idea how much of a problem that would be for the Buckaroos. It's a neat thought, though.

Let me see, looks like it is time for me to chime in here. As one of the main instigators of the titanium handles for the 112 let me say this: I still want it. it would beat a lot of the stuff out there. still for changing petes to add more knives. I know things get busy, but this was all stuff that was discussed months ago, not to mention the D2 that is supposed to be available....

See what i get for waking up today? I'm calling in sick Friday. ;)
I was having a discussion with Wilde Bill Codey, our custom guy, and he got me started. (rant mode on) Its very frustrating to me because if we could just somehow get past the problems, and HUGE expense of getting it all set up on the computer, we could offer several new models. Wild Bill and I decided that all those problems aside, if we had the ability to let folks custom order even just 50% of our current line, Pete's custom would grow to dozens of employees, not just two.
I am right there with you guys. Still trying to make it happen.

Pete's Custom Shop 112s? Ti slabs?

Count me in for a couple or three or so.

Joe, Sorry hear that you were under the weather.

One possible way to avoid the expense of offering the 112 through
Pete's is to use a text mode only for the 112. It is similar enough to
the 110 that we could "dream" up a combo then use the text to place the
order. Using a text mode might be a good way to check the market too.

I think we all understand the cost of any new offering ,but the risk involved
can be minimized to a level to make worth the gains if it takes off.

Failing that try a "new" limited run of 112's to stir the intrerest in this solid
dependable knife. I know I sure like my Nickle silver model ,but being a knife
nut I'd sure like a cousin or two to keep it company!!

I know what parts look like. Just give me a list of options, a price chart, and phone number to order!!!

Custom shop 112?

My ideal is nickel bolsters/frame, fancy wood grain inserts with plain BG-42 blade.

All of the design and engineering is unchanged, the only revision is for some Bg-42 blades made for special projects.

This would increase sales for Pete's Custom Shop.

FK

Joe, don't worry about all these guys whining about the 112.I customized my own and so can they. What you should really be concentrating on is a left-hand version of the spearpoint mini-strider,no serrations please.Give me a call when their ready.
Mike :D :D :D

Whining about the 112??? Nah, I don't think so.

Trying to increase Buck's business so that Pete can get back
to work ......Yea, I think so. Besides,110's & 112's are ambidextiorus
knives. Even lefty's can use'um.

Come on Joe......you know you guys wanna make this one.:) BTW, no finger grooves please.
Seriously, I think if marketed in the right way, the Ti handles will be a huge seller. The Buck of the 21st century...this ain't your Daddy's Buck.
