I've been hunting for one of these for quite a while and finally found one. The mechanics of the knife are sound, but the blade is a total mess...Poorly
re-profiled and some grinder action:( I have a few other 112's from the same period and was going to blade swap...but just couldn't bring myself to do it.
Sooooo...

Should I get a damascus blade and put that in...OR....if Buck is still able to re-blade a Catagory II 112 ...have them re-blade this one?

Thank You in advance for any serious replies.

This is easy, you want a collector, blade swap for period blade. You may have to search the bay a while but bet you eventually find one that may not be NIB but GE (good enough). I will guess Buck won't be able to help.

If you want a house display case knife or a classy EDC ---- Dami blade for certain. It will look neat.
I have two Shedua scales, one is my huntin 112 and one is NIB collector. Only one of a couple of 112s I am keeping. I like them because they are old AND different, just like the micarta scales of the same period.

Thank You 300...You really helped me cut to the chase the way you broke it down there. I'm going to toss a coin to decide which of my Macassar Ebony Cat II 112's is the donor:) then I can use that frame for a damascus blade project.
The shedua wood ones are too far & few between to not restore this one;)

You are going to get a Snake River Blade for one of them I hope! They look good with any scales.

That's the plan Jerad, if he can make one with the old style Kick and a 1/8" hole...
Got the blade swap done...

He can make it however I'm sure. He did a 112 for me with a 110 lock as the 110 lock is smaller. He's a helpful fellow Grand is. Pictures of the blade swap to follow?
Keep up the good work Duane.
