Anyone ever seen, have, want to put up for adoption, a 112FG NS?

Been carrying around my first ever 112 for about three weeks now. Can't put it down. It's a "112<" (86).

When I saw my first 112 in the 70's I thought to myself, "Self, why would anyone want a 'compromised' 110?". Well now I know why. It is an unspoken and under rated treasure. I will be the first to admit that for over 30 years this knife has been neglected and unappreciated (at least by me).

Since then I picked up a 112C NS. These are surprisingly, to me, great knives. Fit the mit perfectly. The blade length is just right for all around putzing.

I would like to pick up a 112FG NS...are there any around???? Got pics?

Goose.

I may be wrong (I have been), but I believe someone posted here that any nickel silver 110/112's were "special order" [by dealers, not individuals], so they wouldn't be available through regular channels, like Ace Hardware or Wal-Mart...

But they do appear on eBay pretty regularly...112FG's are even more rare, apparently...

IMHO, a 112FG in nickel silver will prolly go for around $70+ on eBay...

Goose, I suggest that you consider findng a regular handled N/S 112(much easier than a FG, N/S 112). Send it to Leroy, have him put new scales, something special, and fingergroove it:D.

Before Xmas I talked with him and he had N/S 112 frames...he could put together whatever your heart and wallet desires:thumbup:. Preston

Here's 3 - 112FG NS Bucks I adopted. All came from ebay, I believe. I'm not looking to find new homes for them ,though.;)

Clydetz - what is the scale on that middle 112??? Does it have real "depth"???

I think my initial estimate of value for the 112FG NiAg may be well too low, judging by the three in Clydetz collection... ;)

You should be aware that if the 112 NiAg fits you perfectly, the FG may not...The finger grooves actually give a slimmer grip than the ungrooved knife...

Of course, if it's too fat, you can always rat-tail file it down to toothpick size... :D

Scale material is smooth buffalo horn and a good 1/8" thick, if that is what you mean by "depth".

No, I meant can you see into it, like transparent/translucent...I have a honey horn stiletto that has depth...

Thanks, The Last Confederate... horn & stag are some of my favorite handle scales found on the Buck 110 and 112.
I'd say the horn scales have a certain amount of translucence; definitely not transparent though, chickentrax. Just to let you know... I checked out all my favorite sites and didn't find one plain fingergrooved n/s bolstered 112. All were expensive customs or marked SOLD and there wasn't many of those!
