113 Ranger scales

Howdy folks, I just my wife a 113 to carry. I'm going to rescale it but as I was looking it it I noticed it has solid walnut scales, not laminated. Is this normal? Thanks, pete.

I think that in 2015 the standard handle material switched from Dymondwood Macassar Ebony to solid American Walnut.

Did you get it new, or used?
Walnut is a Custom Shop option. If you bought it used, maybe it is a Custom Shop knife.

Bert, you probably got it. I didn't look up the date code but it's not marked custom. It was 28 shipped on ebay. I think I'll look for a laminated one to rescale for her. The idea was to rescale with wood from our farm so it's special for her. Pete
