The O-7 series of tool steels are among my favorite carbon steels. 115W8 and 110CrV5. This knife was made from Achim's 115W8 and dressed with sexy walnut, and sports one of the thinnest edge geometries I have done to date. Sharpened with a Crystolon coarse, Crystolon fine, India fine, then buffed on the wheel with green compound. Usually my edges will get a full progression, but lately I've been leaving them with coarser finishes that are polished with the wheel/green compound. This seems to give an excellent combination of push cutting and slicing aggression. White G10 liners and black micarta pins. Pretty much a copy of my last one. This knife was a special order from the father of an old friend. I hope he enjoys it.
Merry Christmas, everyone!
