It was a great day outside today maybe a bit windy but the fishing was good! My family won’t be here till tomorrow so today was all freed up. This will be a nice trial for the 117 small special.

The 117 went through the trout like they were soft butter. I slipped on one cut and just barely dinged the point on the sink ouch ! And it didn’t want to make the next cut but a few strokes on the fine diamond stick and it was back at work doing a fantastic job! I really like the 117 it fits my hand very well and it is so manageable. I feel a bit bad for not using my 110s but this little fixed blade is a marvel!

Out of curiosity, did you use your always reliable works when nothing else does "Number 10 Pink Wiggly" fly?

Nice breakfast you caught there. :)

No lol, I was using spinners. This is in a small lake or pond that is stocked. Started out with a small trout colored willow leaf spinner and caught one but they were short striking it so I switched to a black with red spots oval spinner and they attacked it almost instantly maybe two feet after presentation with a slow retrieve. It was fun!

Might have been in his book 'THEY SHOOT CANOES, DON'T THEY?' or 'THE GRASSHOPPER TRAP')
