I have an old Twinset with a 103 and 116, both are one line "BUCK" stamps with red hard fiber spacers and pinned pommels not barrel nuts. The sheath is a keeper strap sheath like what you typically see with barrel nut knives.

Is it likely an incorrect sheath or was it possible there were some keeper strap sheaths for the Twinsets left after they switched to pinned pommels?

Yes there were some with keeper strap sheaths. I have a 103/102 twinset with one line "BUCK" stamps and red hard fiber spacers with a keeper strap sheath.

Rounding off to whole years
Barrel nuts... 61-62
Keeper strap sheaths... 61-63
Holster sheaths... 64 on
So..... your set is about 1963, falling between the end of barrel nuts and the beginning of holster sheaths.

Thanks to all for the information. This forum is surely a great resource to this newbie Buck collector.

Yeah there are sure some knowledgeable people here. Pretty friendly bunch too.
Do you have any pics of that set you could post?
Thanks.

When you get it, be sure to post pictures of the sheath that came with it. Front & back. Thanks, DM

Not mint but I like them.
