Thanks Mr. P.
It is a good looking knife...though I've never seen one in real life that I can recall.
Maybe something to add to my wish list for 2006.

Anyone have one of these that they can report on?
I like the look...somewhat sweeped like the Akonua.
Interested in feedback and pics to show stag.

Goose, I think there may be at least a couple of different 118 Custom limited editions. One is a searilized xxx /100 in stag and D2 steel with Chuck Buck '04 etched on it on the back, and Presidents Tour 2004 etched on the front. Stag

and with the upswept tip similar to the Akonua.

I'll try and remember to get a pic up tomorrow of one.. I'll post an 805 along with it. The blades are very similar. I just realized the model numbers aren't on either of them. Guess I never thought much about that. A good argument for keeping them with the boxes. I would be the one to forget which is which.

Yep I got me one ,serial # 134 with the stag, mostly white ,highly polished stag and blade.
stuck my palm with the point when it slid out of the wrapping..... brought plently of blood..... so now I guess "she" is a user.
The sheath is a matte black comes in a nice black box with a gold elastic tie
I put them in the box

# 975 BCCI for life

Watch it Earl.... My ties dissappeared.... Seems the wife snatched them for something. Had to go on search and rescue, but finally retrieved them. I guess I shouldn't have left them laying in open view after I unpacked the boxes.

MR. EEE,

Can you post a pic for all to see? I for one would like to see your evil eye reflection in the shinny blade:D!

MR. Goose,

I think you should go to Ira woods place and buy one today!!!! I'm interested to see comparison pics of them. But, I'm more interested to see if you also get speared in the hand; some of these knives have a mind of their own;)

Maybe this will give you an idea of the 118 in one of the Limited Edition variations. This one is from the Presidents 2004 Tour in D2. I stuck in one of an 805 Signature Series in S30V just for blade size comparison
sorry, no blood was let during this photo shoot... :)

I also find it curious that the 118 just has the standard black sheath and the 805 has the much nicer tan one. With the 805 being less expensive. Sheaths will interchange.

I have seriously considered making the 805 a user this coming fall hunting season. I have yet to find this size blade in a quality steel in another knife. sorry if I drifted too far from the 118...

Oh yeah,,, click on the pics and then click again in image shack to make them really large.

Thanks Larry!
Great pics. Appreciate the blade comparison very much.

I like that 118.

Don't have a single Buck with stag...that may be my first.

Ordered a 501LE stag from Ira but never got it...guess it's back ordered.

Ira doesn't show the 118 on their site :(

Goose.

BTW, someone scribbles on your knives ;)

Yeah,,, that scribbling is one of my delimmas in making them users. Along with that xxx/100 stuff. Or the xxx/1000 on the 805. But then again, I have this thing about two each......

I thought I better offer an FYI on one of the posts. The 805 is patterned after the 105 Pathfinder, not the 118 Personal. The 805 has a unique sheath designed to fit the curve of the end of the handle, nearest the stamp. A 118 might fit in there but I would not recomend it, might not be safe in a couple of ways.
Hope this helps.

"John is THE DEVIL!!!!"

Thanks, I think ;)
How did you find that? I searched for 118 Buck and the whole thing on their site and then
convinced myself that I can do without one for a bit.

You can't beat their prices...at least I haven't seen where else one can. And they ship quick.

Trying to resist...

Come on buddy,

You know you want it!!!! "Sorry" MR. Goose, I have to satisfy my Buck buying wants through my forum pals for a while. Like our friend 334 Dave and his issue......you know that wife thing.......well I'm in the same boat and my boat has a few leaks in it!!!! If keep sticking new Buck blades in those leaks my boat will sink and I can't afford an EX:o and all of these knives.....so.....come on Goose buy it already!!!!!!:D

I think I gotta wait a week or two...

I'm in a dilema of that, a 890 Strider, or pay my scooter registration.

Too bad Five-0 Mike wasn't on patrol in my 'hood. If he pulled me over for my tags and I told him I bought a Buck instead, I bet he'd get all poddle eyed, pat me on the shoulder, and tell me to ride home safe.

I need to win Lotto...

Goose.
