Has anyone done anything to add some grip or texture to the 119's handle? Other than wrapping it in paracord.

Thanks

Pachmyr makes pacskin. They are basically square sheets of checkered kraton with an adhesive backing.
Its meant for gun stocks but should work for knives as well.

You could try "dimpling" it like a golf ball...take a 1/8" drill bit and an old piece of wood; drill the wood with the drill bit and then cut the wood so that only about 1/8" of the drill bit sticks out...then just keep drilling those "dimples" into the grip until you think it's "dimpled" enough...

They did this with baseball bats some years back, to see if it would make them more aerodynamic...(and allow more precise control)...it works...but only for expert batters... :)

Yeah the grip is better so its not very confortable! Its a compromise, slipping and confortable or a little bit inconfortable and a tigh grip.;) let me know if you do something with your 119's handle

Why not checker the handle like a pistol grip? Would probably look alot cooler than dimpling.

I am with you, Wolf-man. It would not be hard to find an engraver that could whip-up a nice fluer-di-lais or grapvine or oak leaf pattern...provided phenolic works well. But Richard has the ultimate answer..........Get a 619 :o

I had a situation with the Becker BK7; I took a hacksaw blade and cut about twenty evenly spaced lines into the grips, no more than 1/64" deep, if that. I then brushed the rough edges down with a stiff wire brush. Worked like a charm, for what I needed to do. If you try this, remember, those slots don't have to be deep to work.

thx - cpr
