Couple months back I posted about the 119 I snagged off ebay at $29 and how I was gonna grind down the handle.

Yesterday I finally "got a round tuit" and took an angle grinder to it. Slimmed the handle down all around. Then a lot of hand sanding with wet/dry 120/300/600. Then took a small round file and cut grooves around it. First cut nearest the guard I tried to do some angles, that wasn't going to work. So I just simply went around the handle for grooves. It came out just OK. I think with a belt sander and buffer wheels and knowing what not to do I could make the next one pretty nice. I would space the grooves different and get 4 of them on there.

It feels better in my hand with my short fingers and the grooves definitely give a little grip on the slick handle.

Thanks! I have a new 120 on the way now. Still watching for deals on used 119s.

Just draw a straight line around the handle with a fine sharpie then file on the line. I used a small triangular needle file to cut the line. Then the filing with the round file was easy.

Real nice, I did a similar sliming job a little while back ( minus the grooves ) and it definitely feels much better in my hand.

You weren't afraid to take off a bit more than I did, mine could stand to shedd a little more if I'm really really nitpicky but I can live with it how I've got it.

Hell of a deal on the 120, too. Don't think I'm allowed to post a link, but I found 120's for $63.25 shipped. They sell the Cocobola one for $74.25.

I would need a round straight edge to draw a straight line around something...:D:D

H&S,

What brand, model, and handle material is the folding knife?
