119 nano steel

There was an email sale to BCCI members in October of 2012. 11 knives were listed including the 119 Nano. Quantity available was 50 and the price was $50. A Nano steel CrossLock was also listed on the same sale. I have in my collection a Nano steel fillet knife. I think you can surmise your own answer from this information and that given above by plb. /Roger

Well, I learned something today. I never even heard of Nano steel. On a side note, the Buck 283 Nano Bantam appears to be on sale on the Buck site. A good little knife.

so I guess what your saying is if I have an opportunity to buy one at a fair price I should buy it.

110 Nano steel. Box dated 1994 blade stamped 2004. I would think maybe the date on the box is wrong, but I have no clue.

I knew Buck had a chisel grind knife, that I believe was only sharpened on one side.
I think that was on a Vanguard.
Was that also a "nano steel" knife?

I guess I always sorta assumed said chisel grind was a flat grind...... I don't know why I thought that.
It seemed more of a curiosity.

Interesting.🤔

Was the box in 1994 even the same as now?
Hey, sometimes I don't even remember what I had for dinner yesterday so.....
🙄😁

I think that is a good explanation for the date on the box.
Buck had several variations of coated blades with chisel grinds...I have this 192 with what they called Ionfusion Technology and a 460 with what they called Buckcote.
Here's a link to a thread where the two processes are explained by C J Buck.
