OK, yes, before anyone asks, I haven't even gotten around to finishing new handels for my 15" AK(package of stuff I was waiting for got delivered I THINK to apt. office while I was in texas and still haven't picked itup yet).

But was looking at my 12" villager here, and had an idea. Thinking I might take it apart, and blue the bolster, keeper and buttcap, then sand down and oil finish the handle and give it a nie convex edge and satin finish. ANy input from anyone o this would of course be appreciated.

Sweeeeeeet!!

For more involved input, however, you're going to have to wait. ;)

( Double posted: I hate it when you pull one trigger and both barrels go off! )

Always liked a rich deep browning job like on some muzzleloaders to absorb the oil.

Well, you're the one who asked!

yeah, thinking I might do a full winchester rust blue if I feel ambitiohus. but will have to find time to build a steam box and do some other work for that. But sure looks pretty then.

Happy to oblige.

If youv'e ever drooled over the beautiful bluing on an antique Winchester, this is how to do it.

Haven' ttried it myself yet but I ahve a gunsmith friend who's specialty(or one of them) is restoring/refinishing guns, and he suggested this one.

Thanks for the link to the Winchester Restoration site. I like the way he thinks. Looks like he does good work. Beautiful old guns. Especially like the Five for Five grouse gun story.
