A while ago Uncle put up an UBOTD for 2 12"AK "almost blems". One by Durba and one by Kesar. I grabbed both. The one by Durba was as advertised.

It wasn't til last night that I realized that the 12" by Kesar WAS NOT as advertised. It isn't that different from the Durba. But it isn't an AK. It's subtle, but as I looked it over and over, guess what I noticed. The center part of the blade between the fuller at the top that makes it an AK, and ridge backing up the edge - is not flat, but definitely fullered to concave.

Unless I misunderstand my definitions, that makes it a DUI CHIRRA!!!.

Hee hee hee, ha ha ha, ho ho ho. I got something nobody else does ( or at least has noticed yet ). I got a 12" dui chirra! NYAH, NYAH, NYAH Tsimi, a Durba is a Durba, but a Kesar is a dui chirra. Must go take my meds now or they'll be coming to take me away, ho ho, they're coming to take me away, ha ha ho ho hee hee to the Happy Home, where life is beautiful all the time...

a K! 12"?? If that 12" was a fish, I'd thro it back, the bait I use is bigger than THAT!! :D

As usual something about what Tsimi says sounds just a teensy weensy bit fishy to me.

Speaking of fishy, are you ever going to get any more of the whatchamacallits Uncle Bill? The buffalo horn sheath carved in the shape of a fish, and the khuk's handle a fishtale that fits together to make a nice unthreatening paperweight for your desktop. With an 8+" Sirupati style blade inside it?

I gave mine away and now I'm regretting it. Should of worn it to church instead. Wouldn't work bad as a sap either. C'mon, I know there's a few of ya out there that get up and bore some of us to death every Sunday. Our Preacher still has it on his desk.

( I can remember 18 years ago showing up at church with the wife and the new baby, and the then preacher teasing me at the door after the service - "Oh, he's got Mary's hair color, and eyes, and nose..." that kind of stuff. I replied "Well, he's a chip off the old block in one thing - didya see how he slept clean thru the sermon just like his old man?" )

The little 12" khukuris are perfect for concealed carry, actually I have gotten away with carrying my 13" Balance Model in a front pocket of my jeans. :)
And they are perfect for the light chopping they are designed
for when it's not practical to carry a large knife because doing so would bring trouble on your head rapidly.
I can just imagine going to the local nature preserve with an 18" or larger knife.
( There was a man that was brought up on charges by the local DA for carrying a crossbow across City Park land.
The charges were eventually dropped and the crossbow returned because he had been carrying it on land he had permission to hunt on, but not without a lot of hassle. And access cannot be denied because of having to cross City Land.:)
It's legal to hunt with a crossbow here if you're disabled.
I could get a permit for one and who knows one of these days I just might.:) )

I have used my balance for cutting small ash saplings that I was going to use for Pipe stems.
(The semi hollow inside with pith makes for excellent Pipe stems and they were used traditionally by many tribes along with sumac and sourwood sometimes.)
So what if it takes a little longer to chop something at least you have a khukuri the size of what most of us called a Large knife at one time.:D
The 12" models I have are just as big as my Cold Steel Trailmaster and in my opinion a much better self defense
knife.;)

Oh Brother! Notice how the "Evil ones agree with each other! Take a wimpy 12"(won't dignify it by calling it a K), show it to a Gorka & he would start checkingto seee if he lost his knife from his sheath hee! Next Blues ,Wal, Paxton,AC,& Koz will come joining the EVIL NDN & Rus! To think I was gonna lie & say I had that hikv crap, just to keep piece in Uncle's family & CARRY WIMPY 12"! NO WAY!

Jimjimjimjim.....The 12" blades are perfect for cleaning fingernails....especially if you want to remove the fingers before cleaning ;) They also have a great value in terms of civic betterment. Our Youth Health Program benefits, because our "yutes" tend to run faster and get more excercise when they see them. They ease the strain on local K-9 units, as scent trails are MUCH easier to follow when they are initiated by a 12" Khuk. The back seats of patrol units do suffer from the extra chemicals needed for cleanup, but you can't have everything

I just got my 12" AK yesterday, thanks again for the quick service Uncle Bill. It is a cute little thing. At one time I would have considered it large, and it is next to a k-bar. But next to my 19" AK it looks like a toy. It will be great for bringing out when I don't want to do any heavy work or scare anyone. My wife might steal it from me though.

Sniff! I'm beginning to lose it!Hi K's are for "serious" use! Now what happens, "MEN" want 12"k'S(12")??? NOW BILL IS TALKING ABOUT A "fish"K, they have Blues crossed dressed in one pic & looking like a castrated Bull in another!!SOB!SNIFF! Oh the shame, all I need NOW is for John to show a wall of 12" & it's over!! What happened to the Good Guys"" I can make excuses for Russ, he's on meds! What's next?? THAT NDN gonna start carrying Indian junk from INDIA!I'm going back to my cave, don't even want to do RESEARCH ,I'M BOLTING THE DOOR & DON'T KNOW IF I WILL EVER COME OUT! 12k my ***, grumble! SLAM,CLICK!!:barf:

KNOCK, KNOCK. Come on out Jim. You just have to try one, you'll see... It will make you feel good... Everyone has one... (come guys help me with some good old fashioned peer presure)

Not to worry, I've just gotten off the phone with Jim's headshrin...er...analyst, and Dr. Ivana Kutchikockoff states that poor Jim is just suffering from a long smoldering case of "khukuri envy". By the way, Dr. K is hoping that via her therapy she will help poor Jim come to terms with his HIK...er, I mean "Research". :p

You really are going to have to try a 12"er. I picked up a 12" sirupati from a UBDOTD a few weeks ago. It does look small next to my 18" WW II, but is BIG next to my Emerson Commander. So you see its all relative. It is a good light chopper considering its size. Try it you'll like it. Look at it as "Hard Ship" research.
