That's great

you're gonna love the little bugger. I need to get another one myself. I had a great villager 12" AK, but the handle was WAY too small. I should have kept it, but I'm sure it's gone to a good home.
Andy, the 12" AK is whole different animal from even the 15" AK. Generally, they come in close to or < 1oz per inch. If the Pen Knife isn't "traditional" enough for you, the 12"AK makes just about the perfect light camping knife. It'll chop stuff up to a couple inches just fine to get a small fire going. If you've got logs to go through, then an 18" AK, YCS, GRS, or WWII is a lot better, but if I were going on a long hike I'd take along a 12" AK, PK, or even a Siru. they don't scare people too bad because they aren't any bigger than a Ka-bar, but they have so much work in them. If were concerned about animals, then i'd pack some sort of trailgun, but if i HAD to square off with a big cat, the 12" AK wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. They don't chop like their big brothers, but if you think about the amount of damage that can be doled out...jeeze.
Wow, i think i just talked myself into one
