The 12" villager AK by Santosh that Yangdu carried on her camping trip has found a new home inTexas.

Yangdu's pic shows what kind of chopper this "little" blade is, but I thought folks might enjoy seeing a closeup.

I've had HI khukuris from Shop 1, Shop 2, original villagers, and BirGorkha, and this one is right there with the best of them in terms of quality. (Is there a name for the new shop other than "New Shop”, or is it the new BirGorkha?) Also the first one by Santosh I've handled. Very nice workmanship. IIRC, Rusty was partial to 12” khukuris, and I can understand why. This may not be the best choice for leading a charge against enemy trenches, and would probably be less than ideal for felling large trees in quantity. But for real-world chores in the yard, or carrying all day without strain as a hiking and camp companion, this is a great all-around size. The matte finish blade and horn handle are practical and good-looking. And although I still don’t care for habaki bolsters in brass, this one by comparison looks solid and businesslike like the rest of the package. The 12” AK is a nice size to slip under the seat of the Jeep for whatever need might arise. As soon as I get tired of admiring it, that’s where it will be. Might be a while until that happens, though.:D

Deservedly awarded, Berk.

Pappy is smiling down at you.

Sarge is grinning somewhere.

And I'm happy as hell for you.

Great looking blade, Berk:) I really learned to love those 12" blades for camping trips once I stopped over-knifing myself. Grab an ol' SAK with a saw blade and a 12" khuk, and you have a nice combo that will serve you on most any outdoor adventure.

I like your jeep idea. I think once I get the death wobble worked out of my CJ, I'm going to pick up a nice beefy 12" AK to compliment my folding spade and beater multitool.

Congrats. The tool couldn't have gone to a nicer guy:)

Great khuk Berk! Who but us would think a 12" knife little. You can get a lot of work out of this "little" knife.

Great picture, thank you Berkley

A 12" AK made it to our house this week too, for my older son.

It's a thing of beauty, and will be a very welcome companion on hikes, camping trips etc. Much more portable than my go-to khuks, and every bit as much blade as will be needed for most tasks.

I have a 12" AK Villager and it's a cool little blade:thumbup:

The bolster and butt cap are steel apparently because they can rust if not oiled.

I had Terry Sisco make a sheath for it.
