Hello,
I have seen a Buck #120 General on ebay with the Idaho State date stamp, which I believe means the knife was make in 2005. Was 2005 the last year the #120 was made? Also where does the #120 "Pro Line" model available from Cabela's fit into the #120's history?
Thanks,
Jerry

This is the subject of much discussion. The 120 is still being made, but only for select distributors. Buck does not sell them direct. Cabela's as you noted, is one of the high-volume distributors, and can afford to place orders for 'discontinued' models. Their Pro 120 is the best buy on a 120 right now. (Yes, I have one).

But you can find both the Coca-Cola 120 and the Phonetic 120 at other distributors online. BKO had them (I got one of theirs, too). :D

You can get brand new 120's for a pretty good price - I'd stay away from eBay, unless you are looking for a particular year stamp and have lots of $$$...

Edit: I see the Phenolic online for $62.40 right now...NIB...here's a pic -

BTW: There are two basic variations of the 120. The Cocobola gripped 120 has brass pommel and guard; the [black] phenolic 120 has aluminum pommel and guard. The brass/Cocobola will run about $30 more than the phenolic.

Trax is dead on.
I took his advice in the past on this very same topic.
Got myself the 120BR CocaCola and 120 Pro-Line that he described here.
Both great deals. Both great knives.
Back to the banjo...

Thanks for the info on the 120 General.
I will check out Cabelas and BKO.
