120V General question

I tied to search this info but I was unable to find it. I got a 120V at an estate sale and I have not been able to figure out what the V stands for. It's a very cool knife and any help would be appreciated.

Its a years designation (v) =1989 the sitcky is at the top of the Buck page. its called Buck date codes
