I really like the feel of the 1211 handle and the plastic sheath is one of my favorite sheaths. I just want that combo with a 4-5 inch blade. And the Shorty Ka-Bar doesn't do it for me at all. Help me out Guru's

handle on the navy is about halfway between the 1211 and the shorty - similar length as the BK16.
loved the blade & balance almost enough to ignore the short handle.
liked it enough I seriously considered shaving down the pommel sides & top and using it in a 3-finger grip.

handle is theoretically only 1/2" shorter than the 1211
personally, I think the Mk 1 blade with a 1317 length handle & pommel would be glorious if the kept the Mk1 handle contours.

I'm holding my 1211 right now. I could afford to loose a 1/2 inch and not feel all jambed up. Your visual has just about convinced me that I need the Mk1 Thanks vik  and a Mk1 blade on my Dogshead would be a dream.

My KABAR MK1 Was waiting in the mail box. Oh Yeah!!!! My very first thought was to turn down the pommel just a tad. But other than that it feels great in my size large hand. Its not quite the diameter of the 1211 but its doable for sure. What really impressed me is the sheath. The knife locks in like its a Serpa holster. I was irritated at first because it felt like I was pulling my britches up just to draw the knife. Then I realized that all you have to do is put very minimal torque on the handle pushing away from my body and it slides out like a duck landing on ice. Resheathing in the same manner. Quiet as a Church mouse. Thanks Again 1066vik 1066vik I Love It!!!!
I took a comparison picture of some of my shorter 4-5 inch blades. And a couple 7 inchers. From top to bottom. Dogshead, 1211, MK1, Kabar Shorty, Bk16, and a Gerber A425

Crap!!!!! I forgot the picture.
Interesting Flickr wont load my image. I'm getting sweats thinking about what photobucket did
