I originally ordered a cerakote'd 1217 from Knifecenter, but they were sold out. They offered to honour my electronic basket with a regular 1217 at the same price as the cerakote version.
After a bit of postal tennis in the US (no fault of Knifecenter ) I had the order FedEx'd to the UK.

As I've just finished redoing my old (bought in 2003) 1217 leather handle, I thought I'd take a couple of pics of old and new together.

I like the new (old?) higher grind on the blade, I dont like the slimmer handle. Apart from that, it's busineas as usual and a great utility knife.

I feel the need to ask about that sheath. Because it looks a great deal like the sheath that comes with the Becker tweener models, only OD green as opposed to khaki.

Hi Charlie_k, the sheath is an old Blackhawk! OD sheath that I bought in 2005. It's got a plastic insert for rigidity and has a small bolt at the bottom to secure said plastic insert. It's a generic 'up to 7" long blade' sheath, but has served its purpose well.
I had it altered at a local kit tailors about two years ago to get MOLLE fittings on the rear to allow me to attach it to my rig.

I like the leather sheath too. Its nice that you can switch them whenever you want too. One for the pack and one for the hip!

Might put the new one in the truck to go with the Leatherman.
