122 or 124?

I have a 2 line 122/124 with Buckarta handle and serrated edge.

Did Buck make 124's in this configuration during this time period or is it a 122?

I've seen 3 line 124's with the serrated edge and leather sheath.

My knife has a swinging leather sheath that seems is too late for it.

That would be a 124. Has to be stamped 122 or have the plastic sheath to be considered a nemo. I love the two liner full tang ones.

So does the sheath seem period correct? I thought the swinging sheath came about a little later than the 2 line knives.

I have one just like yours new in the original box and it came with a fold over sheath. Manufacture date circa 1970.

What does the back of your fold over sheath look like? Does it have the model # on the back & does it have tooling marks on the belt loop? Thanks, I’d love to see a photo if you have one

I guess I was mistaken. The NIB one I have that is like the one posted above is paired with the plastic Nemo sheath and not with a fold over like I thought.

Look no one here can say if your knife left the factory as a 124 or a 122 as the original sheath is not with you or the knife. There is no differance in the knife just the sheath on those two liner knives.
Yeah, I completely understand that. I'm simply trying to determine what the correct leather sheath would be if it were a 124. I believe it would be a flap over style sheath but there are a few different versions of those and I'd like to know what I'm looking for to make it as correct as possible. Do you happen to have a photo of the back of your flap over style sheath? Thanks.

For those of you who are members of the BCCI go the DEC 06 news letter and you can see in the Article by Joe Houser that in 1971 (the year the Nemo was discontinued temporarily) they did use the swinging leather sheath for the two line 124 Frontiersman with Gray/black Micarta and serrations.

My two line full tang 124 came with a swivel sheath too. The last two line met the first swivel sheath? May be.

Could be, I imagine there's no way to say 100%. I have a swivel and a flap style that has the model # on the belt loop like jb4570's.
