124 Klinkhamer series 2

EEE, those must not be part of the numbered set series 2

There wouldn't be three 124's in a numbered set??

This series 1 set all have the anvil.

There are like knives outside of the sets. I wonder what blade stampings is on Mike K's 121 series 1 type ??

Interesting,,,got me to looking,,,, this cherry wood series one set has a really wide range of dates on some of the boxes. Not all the boxes are dated. Range from 11/3/03 up to 6/25/04

I think it would be cool if your numbered set all had the Idaho, instead of the anvil.

A slight drift here, but in a note from a Buck person a year or so back, there was an indication that they were looking at a way of dating the customs. Without a dated box or receipt, no one would know just how old an anvil custom is. Other than not older than 2002.

Just my rant about age identification of custons....sorry for the drift.

I just noticed that I have two versions of the 124 Klinkhamer 2.
Two with Idaho stamp no serial numbers
and one with serial # and anvil stamp.
The serreations are also diffrent.

Has anyone else come across this?
No, but I'd certainly like to! :D

I kind of remember that there was an issue with the stamping on some of the Klinkhamer knives. The ones that ended up with the "wrong" stamps were still sold, but not numbered. I am not positive that I have this correct but it would explain why some are serialised and some are not.

For what its worth, I strongly encourage ANYTHING that helps date knives... customs, limited editions, even production. The customs are in need of the most help. You dont get a date code OR a model number on them. "If your custom knife is stamped BUCK, CUSTOM, U.S.A. that means it was made between about 1980 and 2007". Try saying that with a straight face! :o

for what it is worth :
i dont want any date stamp on the show side of any custom buck knife!!!
peroid!
now it is ok on the off side tho i rather it was not there at all
i can live with it on the OFF side...

and i like the anvil stamp buck better then the idaho one on that K-Hammer!!!!
i have a good list of the 110s for my information book at the show...
it is difcule as blades may be made to order a year befor dilvery to customer
or some old stock used for a low number of a issue
many dont match the year of sale at all with the earlyest tang stamp know..
also with one designe being used as a custom and limited and reg production!
and then the employee knives!
omg thoes are enught to dirve you to not drinking!
as they dont fit any ware!
will send it to you Joe...
