Well did any of you bid on this 124 from the evil ebay?

Looked like an old friend I once had. I knew this one would go for big $$$$'s. I thought it would have gone for a little more. I just kept thinking about those 07's I needed more and resisted bidding

. Oh, and my boss would have beat me on the head also helped.

John, I didn't bid on it...I think my bidding days on the Bay are done. To many variables/unknowns. If I know the seller and really want the item and think it's the only way to get it...then maybe.

That is a very nice 124...I'm thinking about the 2007 LE but the handle length/size on it concerns me. Preston

No John...didn't bid on it. Can't stand that Bidder# crap.

As for the 124...I really like that knife. Thinking maybe better than the 120 for camping and stuff.

Mr. P., what's the concern with the new 124LE? I'm kicking that around.

Goose, my understanding is that the handle on the "newer" ones is quite a bit smaller and shorter than the "original" ones...I'm thinking that Trax had something about it in one of his threads

Oh. I was wondering if that was it.
I only have the one 124LE...so I can't compare to another 124. But the one I have has the same gripper size as a 119/120.

The 124 LE will have Water Buffalo Horn handle,nickle silver inlay of a horse ..... size

I hope it is the same size as the old 124's.....handle that is

So, I'm guessing it is better that the handle be, ahh, hung like a horse compared to a deer?

Don't know why the heck they went with the chipflignt and horsey instead of the chipflint with buffalo inlay design like the others...oh well, it's stll something I gotta get.

Yep that puzzled me also....maybe the "horse"

was already a metal pattern.

Yep, I had to throw some bids in on it. It showed the bidders ID's when I left for work, and just bidder 5 when I came home. I like that red micarta, but I'll spend my money on that Chipflint 124 now, it's just too cool to pass up.

where did you find to order already (2007le)?
and fwiw , to me the handle looks to be in between the original and the 2006le

I know to well that anytime we use ebay we may get ripped off.....one day soon I'l give some advice on this subject. I don't know to many of the folks who are selling stuff there. It's always a big risk with ebay.

Last year's 124 was stag....small handle and a "Must have Item". This years 124 is inlayed Buff horn and a "Must have Item"!!!!!! even though I don't like the small handle gig.

Well the 07 is definitely a rat tail tang and looks to be just like the 119/120 handle size. Not like the slab handle's on the old 124's. But, we'll just have to see what size they are when one of us has some pic's to post :thumbup: .
I can't wait.

You can order from Larry Oden (email address is in the BUCK Newsletter). BUCK COLLECTOR'S CLUB members get a discount from Larry. I checked with him before giving out this information.
