1246 Camp Knife Mod

I picked this up about a year ago at a pretty decent price. I really like the looks of it but haven't put it to any real test more than just casual camp out chores. I couldn't find much info on it except that its discontinued and apparently got a bit of a bad rap for whatever reason. I think it also came as 1244 with a leather sheath and this came with ¿kydex? sheath.

I'm looking for any thoughts or reviews and most of all pics and mods!

I got a wild hair and decided to do what I've been wanting for a while. Next is chop the guard and hot cider vinegar patina, and a little sanding on the edges for a worn look.

Thanks Logan and Guyon! Just finished the patina...




Just did a quick and dirty patina with a used dryer sheet soaked in vinegar. Wrapped the blade with a soaked sheet then poured some over it to really saturate. Then stuck it between some cardboard with some junk on top to keep it pinched in. About an hour later it was pretty good. Rinsed it with cold water and scrubbed thoroughly with a toothbrush and plenty of baking soda.



Gotta get that guard chopped. Maybe if I stay up too late tonight I'll get sleep drunk and hit it.

They're still out there but may be going up. I bid 50 for this and got it for 42. I peek once in a while just to see and one just went for 65. When I do see them its always just one , haven't seen 2 at the same time in the past year. This wasn't used much at all but looked like something got in the sheath and scratched the crap out of it and it went in and out a lot causing one side to be nice and the other with about 20 3" long scratches so that may have been why I got it a bit cheaper but I didn't care. It's been about a year and I finally got to it lol.
