Man...why did they discontinue this? What a great little blade! Great job on the razor edge, it hasn't been used at all and shows no signs of handling.










This was in the line of short Ka-Bars and was purchased in 2006. I'm not sure when production ceased on this model.

I've had my eye out for this one for some time now and grabbed it at a great price. It's practically brand new much to my dismay because its so pretty...we'll see how things go before I get the nerve to strip, patina, and drop the top guard.

I won't bore you with sheath pics because they won't do it justice, but its very sturdy and well made compared to the newer short sheaths. Although identical, you can feel the quality and if you look closely you can see a little bit thicker leather. They sure don't make them like they use to.

I need an updated family pic with the hand full of disco's I've recently acquired but my indoor lighting just won't do them justice. Now it will be raining forever...

So...my search continues for the elusive 1273 to complete my disco collection.

I really like the short Ka-Bars. I don't have huge hands so they fit really well. I wish they had more models like a drop or spear point, or a dogs head.
 
Holy crap Slicebags! That's freakin' awesome dude! So jelly! Goes to show how much of a novice I am, I didn't even know that thing existed. Make it yours bud, strip it, patina it and lose that top guard. That'll look tough. For love of heavenly God make sure you post some pics soon. I need to see it when it's done! Onya brother..
 
Congrats on the 1253 found one left over myself NIB under 35 bucks as far as a small BK6 HMMMMM
