125OT check it out quick it will not be there for long

I jumped...

If it's a duplicate of the 125 I already have, I'll offer one of them for trade. Mine doesn't have a sheath...

I hoped that someone here would get it, well done Bob. nice price as well.

Listed as stainless, but I think it would be 1095, if not mistaken. Mine is one of the sharpest knives I have - scary sharp for hunting, camping, carrying.....

The black-and-tan boxes were always labled either "Schrade + steel" or "high carbon cutlery steel." So it should be easy to determine.

It's possible that the 125OT switched to stainless at some point, like the 7OT and 6OT did.

If it has a good tight lockup, then it's truly a keeper. I've an older one (woodgrain and gold lettered box) that has the lockbar end about 1/16th short. My other project one does as well, so maybe that's just the way they are.

If this was a USA, somebody got the buy of the year. I see it ended with a buy it now. Makes one wonder why it went so cheap!

Yeah, it came last week. I promptly set it aside and forgot about it until you asked. Perfect condition, a bit of brown staining on the bolsters from some dried oil. Box is a bit battered. Sheath is like new.

The fit and finish on this one is very good. No blade play, liner lock is a perfect fit, and no gaps in the liners. When open, the back of the blade isn't quite flush with the back of the spring, but there is no gap.

I'm in the middle of taxes, but I'll post a couple of pics later showing the fit of the two knives - I don't think a short lock bar is normal.

Here are the blade locks of the two 125OT knives while in open possition.

If I've misunderstood what you mean by "short bars" let me know and I'll post a different scan.

Hmmm... Imagine that....

One of my 125OT didn't open with a nice snap. So I looked in the action and found some dried up gunk in there (old grease from the factory). I wiped it out with a wooden toothpick. Now the blade has a great 'snap', but just like you said, now there's a small gap in the bladelock liner.

All three of the ones I've handled recently, including that mint one, have lockbars that end about 1/16" short. Maybe a design difference?

I checked my 127UH, and it looks exactly like the knife on the right. The forward blade play is minimal. This one is in the one piece woodgrain box with gold Uncle Henry lettering. When the 125OT arrives I'll check it too. It is a tan-black Sharp Idea box.

125OT arrived today, and it looks like the one on the right. So mine is a 125OT long.

In the same shipment I got an 877UH though and it is a short.

Both were in their respective Sharp Idea boxes.

So it seems that although the short bars are common among the 125OT (and likely the sister knife in the UH line), it's not constant.

Thanks,
-Bob
