did the blades vary over the years in the 125OT ? i am looking at purchasing one, but the nail nick is more forward (towards the tip) on the blade (clip) than the one pictured in the sticky by irv (nail nick at mid blade position). it has a lanyard hole (some do, some don't; depends on year) and tang says: SCHRADE/USA 125OT so i assume it is not stainless (1095 ?)
any comments or info on this blade variability ? i want to make sure it is not a hodge-podge of Schrade parts. thanks, roland

Nail nicks moved around (and changed sizes) as well as other subtle changes within the same pattern. On the folding hunters, I think the older ones had nail nicks closer to the tip. I've seen quite a few of these where the tip was broke off, and the blade was re-profiled. Something else to watch for on any knife on Ebay.

Schrade did make a version of this knife in Stainless they designated it 126OT, I think that the 125OT's were all Carbon Steel. and were made that way before Schrade started changing over some of the OT range of knives to Stainless, not 100% on that though, I have noticed on Some of the early Schrade Walden OT's & Uncle Henry styles that the nail nick was towards the tip of the blades.
