I'm new to the Schrade forum, but I've spent a lot of time this afternoon reading past posts and trying to absorb some of the history. My collection of old folders is pretty eclectic, but one of my prime pieces, and the only Schrade I own, is a 125OT that I picked up in a flea-market shop about ten years ago. The knife and leather case are well used but also well taken care of by whoever owned it. My first question, the blade is clearly marked 125OT but it has a lanyard hole as I saw in the picture of the 123OT - is this unusual? My second question, when looking through the lists of model numbers, as compiled by Codger 64 and others, I notice that the 125OT is always highlighted in red - what does that mean? Thanks, Don Craig, Saranac, NY

Can't help a lot but according to Mr.Clemente's book lanyard holes varied from year to year.In 1971 it had a hole,1974 to 1975 no hole,1976 to1991 it had a hole,1992 to 1997 no hole.First production 1971,final proudction 1997.Hope this helps.Arnold

Toby got it right about the lanyard hole coming and going during the years I have one of each, and as for the 125OT showing up in red Ive seen this only as a highlighted item when you do a search in the forums.
Take a look at the www.collectors-of-schrades-r.us page and follow the Old Timers link.

Thank you, gentlemen, I appreciate you clarifying this for me. I haven't looked at this knife in a while, I'd forgotten how sturdy and well-made it is. This forum has given me a new appreciation for it. Don
