127 UH secret number?

I was just fondling / admiring / inspecting a new-to-me 127 UH when I noticed something strange. On the inside of the liner in the blade well, the number 137065 is stamped. It is on the same surface that "press" is stamped (i.e. where you push to release the lock) but the number is on the end near the tip of the blade. I hope I'm describing this clearly; it's almost as if the number is not meant to be seen.

I looked at another 127 UH, as well as 125 and 126 OTs and the numbers are not there.

Has anyone seen this or know what it is?

Thanks,
Dave

yes, it's the serial number of the knife

until sometime in the 70's the serial number was stamped there, then the serial numbers were discontinued

Very interesting, thanks for the reply. I just noticed it on a 227 UH, too. So far those are the only two I can see a number on. Which models had the serial number? I think I heard the LB8 had a number somewhere on a bolster, but I couldn't find it on the two I have, or an LB7...

Dave,
Someone in here will be along with the year they stopped, but I know the earlier LB7s had a serial number on the bolster. I have one that has the serial number on it that I got used about 1985. It doesn't have the Uncle Henry name on it either, just Schrade +.
