I have driven everywhere and cant find what Im looking for. Im making a display box for a knife. Remember that spray glue and velvet flocking that people use inside of a jewelry box? Anybody know who sells it? I used it as a kid in art class but I cant locate it these days. Im about ready to wait until Kaye goes to work and put some felt in the blender to see it it will powder it.

My dad uses it often. I bought a jewelry box for my lady a few years ago off him that has it in the drawers.

I'll try to call him tomorrow and will ask where he gets his. I do know it is mail order, wherever he gets the stuff.

Bruce,
I know of two places. One is Leevalley tools, and if you have a Hobby Lobby, they carry it in the model train section. Other model stores may also. Paul

My dad says he uses a product called suede-tex and has been getting it from Donjer Products Corp. for about 20 years, but has not gotten any more for about 5 years.

Call them at (800)336-6537
They are in NJ.

It is applied to an enamel base of some sort by spraying it onto the surface using an airgun of some sort. I never used it but they will explain all you need to use it. It looks like velvet to me.

I have seen some felt pieces at Michaels, and Walmart in the craft and sewing section. It came in differnet colors.

Thanks guys! I found exactly what I was looking for. I knew I could count on my buddies for help. Its called Suede-Tex and is available in several colors. Sounds like high quality stuff too. I will post a pic when its done.
