These may be as common as Quaker Oats, but it's the first one I have seen. It might even be a rehandle.... I have no idea.
Any info on this handle type?

It's an albino, some people call it a Buckskin. I've seen a few of them.

Here's an opposite, an 897 Chocolate:

Codger has an old post on delrin coloring, which is very interesting. I'll try to find it.

OK, so if it's original, I guess I didn't get hurt to bad for $25, just because it's different than my other ones.
Did this come in a regular production box? This is new, but I did not get the box with it, and would like to find the correct one for it.

I do not believe the different colored delrin handles were intentional, probably more of a dye malfunction that becomes an oddity. The 12UH Roadie box is usually a Light Blue Sharp Idea Box. Empty boxes show up from time to time on Ebay.

I've got a buckskin LB8 staglon on my corner photographed with all the "normals" ..the others won't even talk to it! Hoo Roo

Here is an SP-3 Lightweight I recently found. I've never seen one in "albino". Has anyone? It has a blank shield cavity indicating that it was made in the first few years before the shielding was moulded in.

And a red one to match. The only red ones I recall had molded shields for L. L. Bean or the college S.W. Conference series, etc.

This is a pre-2004 Imperial Schrade factory photo of the dye process:

Here is a scan of some Uncle Henrys, mostly 897UH, showing color variations. Ignore the little feller on the bottom right... that is a stag handled reject. The scales are buffed too deeply and don't match left/right.

THAT is a very cool knife. I am feeling some serious Schrade envy over that bad boy.....:thumbup:

P. S.
Michael has lots of cool ones as well. Those are great.
