First Post. I am considering a new EDC (primarily self defense) to replace my Spyderco Endura wave. CQC 13 and 15 look very good. I currently have an Emerson combat karambit and love everything about Emerson. I would appreciate any insight or advice regarding the 13 and 15. Probably cannot go to far astray with either. Cheers.

Welcome to Blade Forums! With regards to the 13 vs. 15, I would personally be inclined toward the 15, for your desired application. The 13 is more of a skinner than a fighter, whereas the recurve and tanto point on the 15 lends itself well for draw cuts and penetration. The 'intimidation' factor on the 15 is quite significant too, especially for the stonewashed version.

For self defense I choose the 15. Iv been using it a lot at work and its also great for daily cutting needs. They only had black blade when I got mine so im keeping my eye out for a stonewashed blade.

15 all the way. As great as the 13 is, the 15 combines a few of Emerson's best design elements into one killer package. That said, if you already have the Combat K-Bit, I don't know that you can get a better self-defense knife.

The 15 has a really nice recurve and strong point, which makes it a really popular choice.
But I would say go for the 13. The point of the 13 is incredibly pointy, sharper than a typical sewing needle. It makes an excellent self defence knife due to the piercing capability. Also, the 13's handle is very spacious and comfortable and there's no chance of your hand slipping off the handle while doing hard stabs.

Both are great.

The 15 for reasons already mentioned.

But lets not forget that the 13 is a Bowie. Bowies have been around for years in fighting/combat.
