Are fires a danger all year or just during the dry season? Do farmers burn off to plant a new area? The pitcher plants seem to take many forms. Here in cold Minnesota, USA there are pitcher plants (Sarracenia purpurea) in bog/peat lands in the north and across southern Canada. They are not limited to tropical climates.
I know you mean "wells" for water and not "wheels", wheels in English are what a car or motorcycle rolls on. Keep posting, I think we understand you no problem, your English is fine overall.

Thank you very much, so sorry for my broken English.
Fire only in dry seasons, there are many reasons on burning the lands.
But, mostly for "stupid" reason, a status quo. It means the reasons of burning the land because of to keep others know that the one who burnt the land is the owner. So, only few people then plant the newly burnt area.
Last year my staffs lost of hectares of rubber plantation because of the neighbour lit the fire up just for only that stupid reason

Forest floor, wild orchids which has white flower and pitcher plants

Balau tree, the Christian Dayak, in the past before plastic X'mas tree sell, used this as X'mass tree. I am not botanist, but might be its member of Araucariaceae

The red bug looks like one we call a stink bug here. Does it make a bad smell when you disturb it?

Our tools, leather sheath on top is mine, the rest are my staffs. Unsheated blade is the represent local blade. Even though getting rare, it is common in our area that man have their own work on a blade. At least make their own sheath and handle since most of the blade in local market sell on blank. In the past, Dayak belief that the true man is a man who able to produce good parang (Mandau etc), so most of the man in the past able to forge and made their own tools and weapons, but of course not all of the were master on it. Dayak and American Native Indians always have a place in my heart they (for me) always attracted in term of spirit of life and their close relation to the mother of earth.

Naked, mine also local (local of people from different island ;) ) :D
wheels25.jpg

Mine came from Tondano, Celebes (Sulawesi). I bought it when i was in North Sulawesi (Indonesia has >17 thousands of island ).
I bought it in a village where hundreds of Javanese on mid of 1800 moved under pressure by Dutch during Dutch Imperialism in Indonesia.
They are fighters from Central Java, the fighter of Prince Diponegoro, a prince of Yogyakarta Kingdom. Rebels on Dutch side.
I wanted to go to that place because of my great grand father also one of Prince Diponegoro fighter. Their name are Singopati and Singoyudo (father and son), about 5th and 6th generation above me. Fighter in the past have name which resemble from the mighty of nature creature. Singo means Lion. Yudo is fighting and Pati is death. But when the movement of sharia going stronger, it is not good for a man to be named by a name of animal or things.
